When Nothing first hinted at new audio products last month, some speculated that we may see a new headphone soon. It was later confirmed that the new products would belong to the Ear series, making them TWS earbuds. And yesterday, Nothing officially unveiled two new models.

At the launch, Nothing announced the new Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a). First, let's take a look at the former. The Nothing Ear is a new premium model and will retail in Malaysia for RM659. It has 11mm dynamic drivers, the iconic Nothing transparent design, and a slightly redesigned case.

In terms of features, the drivers are paired with a ceramic diaphragm for crisp highs, increased airflow in the buds for less distortion, and improved active noise cancelling (ANC) at 45 dB. For battery, the Nothing Ear boasts a combined (buds+case) battery life of 40.5 hours. Even with the battery on the buds, it can deliver up to 8 hours of music playback. Other notable features include the Advanced Equaliser with 8-band EQ, personal audio profiling, Hi-Res Audio support, a Bass Enhance algorithm, and more.

Next up, we have the more mid-range Nothing Ear (a). Appearance-wise, it looks identical to the Nothing Ear. However, the Nothing Ear (a) has a slightly longer stem, a rectangular case instead of the usual square-shaped one, and the option for a variant with yellow accents. This model will be sold in Malaysia for RM479.

Its features are also largely the same as the ones for the Nothing Ear. It doesn't have the ceramic diaphragm but supports 24-bit Hi-Res Audio like its more premium counterpart. Another thing that was removed is LDHC support, with only LDAC support available. As for the battery life, the buds and case combine to deliver up to 42.5 hours of music playback time. Besides that, it comes with the same bass enhance algorithm and 45dB ANC. Overall, you can think of the Nothing Ear (a) as a mid-range variant of the Nothing Ear.
