Marvel is making an interactive story for the Apple Vision Pro

When Apple first announced the Vision Pro last year, many wondered what you would even need this headset for. Sure, there's a lot it can do. However, PCs already do those at a much lower price. Well, what if you can watch a Marvel interactive story with it?

Yesterday night, Marvel announced its first-ever interactive original story. Marvel Studio created the "What If...? - An Immersive Story" in collaboration with ILM Immersive, which is the Lucasfilm studio that helps work on various Star Wars projects. The interactive story will be available on Disney Plus for Apple Vision Pro users.

In case you're unaware, this story is part of the Marvel "What If..." show on Disney Plus. You play as a character who was "chosen to step into the leading role of an all-new immersive story", meet various multiversal variants of Marvel characters, and more. From the description and screenshots provided, it sounds like the playable character could be Dr. Strange.

Currently, the story will be exclusive only to Apple Vision Pro users. However, it's unlikely for the studios involved to limit their audience to such a small niche. As such, we're expecting it to eventually be available via other devices, like the Meta Oculus or HTC Vive series. It could also be added to PCs or mobile devices at a later date, but we're not sure about that so don't quote us on it.
