Besides the news about the availability of the PORSCHE DESIGN HONOR Magic6 RSR in the Malaysian market on May 5, the latest report from International Data Corporation (IDC) shows that HONOR is at the top of the smartphone market in China.
For your information, HONOR commands a 17.1% market share in the first quarter of 2024 and a year-on-year growth of 13.2%. HUAWEI followed closely behind with a 17% market share while Apple's market share fell to 15.6%. According to IDC, HONOR topped the list driven by an increased focus on AI features as well as overall improvements in imaging and screen technology.
In addition, the number of HONOR Magic6 series shipments in the first quarter of sales exceeded the total number of shipments of the previous generation combined during the first two-quarters of sales. We have yet to confirm other details on the news. However, it will be interesting to see if the same trend will happen in Malaysia.
